Stripe Season

Blazer: We The Free, from Crossroads
Top: Gap
Shorts, Necklace: Thrift
Shoes: H&M
Bracelets: Verameat, and Species by the Thousands

Today's outfit is definitely inspired by one of my favorite brands, J. Crew. I've been a fan for years because of their incredible ability to make prepster clothes not preppy, and instead, cool, fresh, and relevant. In a way I'm glad that they don't carry my size because I know I'd be in trouble! Their brilliant styling continues to make me look at my own wardrobe in different ways. So really, I blame them for giving me the idea to pair my blazers with ripped up jeans and silk blouses paired with sneakers. None of it really makes sense but in the end I'm happy I took an unpopular idea and made it my own.

  4. So I think it's time for you to come home and dress me. My wardrobe consists of black pants, black shirts and about 10 total shoes of which I maybe wear 2. I'm looking at what I'm wearing right now and it's a dark grey sweater, black slacks and black dress boots. Man I'm depressing.

  6. Your outfits are always so much fun! I love the stripes on this blazer! I'm with Rita, by the way. My closet consists mainly of black clothes and I have to say I live vicariously through fashionable bloggers like you to bring color into my life! Thank you for that! :)

  7. Thanks everyone!

Gazel - I actually don't miss my hair at all! I thought it would take some time to get used to, but it was kind of strange how immediately natural it felt. I don't really know if the long hair thing was ever for me. It takes WAY too much maintenance for it to not look sloppy (which, in my opinion, was how it looked most days haha).

LOL Rita... you're not depressing! I love you and I'd love to dress you when I get home (but you do realize that you have a 16 year old daughter that could probably do the same)!

  8. Yeah you should see Ashley's wardrobe it looks like a rainbow exploded in her closet and by the way she is 17 going on 18 in December. Yes she ages while the rest of us do not!!

OH and today I have on a black sweater and gray pinstiped slacks with matching pinstriped shoes! (Wow, way to take it up a notch huh)

  9. Okay that is so funny because I was thinking Ashley was 17 but it didn't feel right in my head, so I wrote 16 instead. SO crazy. I really have missed out on so much! And p.s. my closet is a little schizo, and there are only a few colors that I won't try. Ugh, I'd love to get my hands on yours, Dre, and Mom's wardrobe!
