Oh hey. It's me again.
Dress: SJP Bitten, from Crossroads Trading Co.
Cardigan: Old Navy
Bag: Thomas Paul, from Fred Flare
Shoes: Evans
Bookcase: Craigslist! So excited about non-messy books!
Ah, Spring Break! It's nice to meet you again. I wore this yesterday for a day out with my boyfriend. We've been together for almost 4 years, and living together for 3! It's so ridiculous how we met - so embarrassing that I used to lie to people about how we knew each other through friends. Ha! I was actually downloading music off of him and we started talking and I basically fell in love. So dorky! We talked for about a year and then he moved to Chicago and we settled in together! I consider myself very lucky to have met someone like Ryan. He's hilarious, we have a million things in common, and we've been comfortable with each other from the very beginning. It's not an easy thing to explain, but we just get each other. It's as simple as that.
So the other day I took a different way home from work and passed by Elly's Pancake House. I haven't been able to shut up about how freakin' PERFECT it looks! Aesthetically pleasing - yes. Food-wise? I was blown away! We ate there yesterday and I got their chorizo omelette and it tasted just the way Mom makes them. SO GOOD. These guys just opened up about a month ago, so if you're ever in Chicago, make your way to Elly's! They're also opened 24 hours, which might drive Ryan wild because I'm always going to want to eat there haha.
Of course we saved room in our bellies for a much needed ice cream sundae from Bobtail Ice Cream. I need more days like these!

I have that same dress but in black and it looks amazing on you.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress but I cannot figure out how to make the neck tie work but I think I am going to copy yours!
xoxo
stina
such a sweet and cute story!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress on you and am so jealous.
I love Elly's Pancake house, we have them out in the burbs by me and we eat there all the time.
So chic !
ReplyDeleteI didn't know it came in black! I got it through consignment, but I wish I would have bought it new. The medium fits, but it's so short! And yes, the neck tie is really strange. I've had it tied like that for months (I don't wear this very often) because I finally got it to look halfway decent, ha! I still think it looks kind of weird, but I'm scared to take it apart! Bows are tricky.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's awesome Sabrina! Is the decor the same? I'm head over heels for that place.
Man, I kick myself all the time for never getting that dress. It looks great on you. IIRC, that's the dress that a Project Runway designer (whose name escapes me at the moment) made for the collection. I have been pleasantly surprised by how well made the SJP stuff was. Pity the store's defunct now.
ReplyDeleteOkay, and your bf is adorable. And I will have to keep that place in mind for my next Chicago trip (which I hope is soon)!
I have that dress in the same color as well! And yes, it's so short; even for me who likes short dresses! I wish I still wore it though - it's just hanging in my closet. Sad face.
ReplyDeletePlus, you and your boyfriend are so cute.
I'm in love with the colour of your dress.
ReplyDeletewant ice cream now! :(
ReplyDeletebut I love the shortness of the dress! it balances out the cuteness of it! you know?! :P
SO cute!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out that pancake spot. Maybe this weekend. ;-)
This is sort of random and unrelated, but I love how light and cheery your photos always look. :)
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks guys! :]
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, that's the dress that was manufactured based on one of Project Runway's contestants designs. I never had a Steve and Barry's near me in the midwest but I always loved going in when I'd go back home to Dallas. It really is a shame that they went out of business!
that dress is amazing on you! and i love the story of you and your boy! my husband and i met via a friend online, and we talked via instant messaging for yeaaaaaars... we finally met and it was like "oh, okay, that's it then!" and we've been together since then. so i totally get your nerdy love story :D oh, and, that restaurant looks amazing - i wish i was anywhere near chicago because i'd be there in a hot second!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of camera do you use?
ReplyDeleteChellBellz - This is the camera I use!
