Hi friends! I'm sorry I haven't been posting a whole lot lately. Finals are quickly approaching, but I did manage to squeeze in time to go to the Vintage Heaven Sale this past weekend at Heaven Gallery in Wicker Park. There were 14 vendors from the Chicago area with booths of fantastic vintage pieces in two separate rooms. As wonderful as it was, I was kind of underwhelmed in terms of plus size offerings from these vintage vendors. I ain't mad at ya though. I understand there is a larger market for smaller size vintage pieces, but this proved to me that I could possibly.. maybe do this myself? It's scary when you realize your potential because then you're stuck with this dilemma. Real life job? Or your own business? I have an eye for vintage and I'm not afraid to admit it. But am I willing to take it to the next level?
Jacket, Shoes: Buffalo Exchange
Blouse, Bag: Thrift
Skirt: Sears
I ended up switching the top at the last minute for something a little similar, but a little punchier. The sun is starting to come out and I think it's here to stay. It's rather frustrating going outside and always feeling like a million eyes are on me when I finally decide to get leggy in the spring. I guess I'll never know what people are really thinking, but what I think is that I'm fabulous and I can work it out no matter what people say (or don't say). So take that!

You look great! Ive not had my legs out this year yet, I always wonder if im baring them too early, so i pull on jeans under my dress, or wear leggins. I think, though, now may be the time! (though, its probably going to be colod since I have said so!)
ReplyDeleteThe vintage thing is a great idea, plus size vintage can be extremely hard to come by, and is therefore pretty time consuming, but maybe you could do both proper job and own business, just while you test the waters??? Id definately buy from you, you have a great eye for style!

ReplyDeleteOh come again this weekend. I'll try to find some plusies!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way too, it would be amazing if they offered a plus size vendor(s) at their sales. And it looks like they're into the idea too :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous skirt... and outfit overall! Lovely....
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! You look great! I'm a seller at Vintage Heaven and also one of the organizers, and I always try to bring plus sized clothes to the sale. I've had the most beautiful skirts and dresses in plus sizes, but I guess they just sold pretty fast. Keep coming back, I'll keep your request in mind. And yes, that would be something you could do, that's a great niche! Let us know if you'd like to sell with us one day!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Isa
